Not sure what to say?

I was a Student of Doctor Hopkins' Class in early 1990's. He was estute, high in intellect, a good Teacher and a great assistance to My Understanding of Computers and G.I.S.. My degree was completed because of His Class. One of the hardest B+ (s) that I ever worked for. He pushed His students to excellence and it paid off in Labrotory/overlays/research. I wish His Family and Friends Good Life and Good Memories. PROVERBS 12:19 PROVERBS 14: The Wise Get All The Knowledge They Can. I'm...

I knew Paul Hopkins for over 20 years, starting when we were both graduate students at ESF back in the late 1970's. His passing at such an early age is a tragic loss for his family, and the entire ESF community. My condolences and best wishes to his family and friends. You (and Paul) are in my thoughts and prayers.

We still have a hard time believing that Paul has passed. He was a very special person. Knowing him for most of his life, we have many wonderful memories of all the years we were together with Paul and his family.
Our prayers are with you all. God bless you.

Chris & family,
I am still in shock at hearing of Paul's death. Although we haven't seen each other for many years I always remember the warm and fun person who I knew when he was still in Connecticut. I always looked forward to his parents updates on how he was doing and how he enjoyed his work and his family so much. My prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.

I served on a Graduate committee with Paul, after saying "Hello" in Bray Hall often. Our shyness disappeared after we got to know each other. He was a great faculty colleague. May God bless Paul. My prayers are with his family

Paul was my major professor and MS thesis advisor at ESF. By offering an assistantship, he made it possible for me to pursue graduate studies at ESF as an international student from India.

I'll always remember Paul not only as an excellent teacher and researcher, but also as a very friendly, compassionate, and principled human being. Even after nine years since my graduation, Paul exhibited the same warmth
and genuine interest in my welfare and success during our...

I had only known Paul a few years through involvement with the Central NY Chapter of ASPRS and various GIS activities. I could tell that he was a gifted academic and a friendly, caring man that reached out to all of his students. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. We served together on the ASPRS Board of Directors over ten years ago. I always enjoyed his company and held him the highest esteem. I fondly recall talking with him about his honeymoon at Sandy Bay Camps on Moosehead Lake in Maine as my mother-in-law lives on that same dirt road. Paul crosses my mind every time we return to Sandy Bay. He will be missed by many.

Paul was a good friend, great person and ASPRS colleauge. I first met Paul at ASPRS meetings and soon became, along with Bill Johnson, the three musketeers at ASPRS meetings. I will always remember the time Paul and I were able to ski together in Colorado. A truly good person gone too soon ... he is greatly missed.
