Longtime local resident Paul Curtis Howard, 54, of Longview passed away May 8, 2010, at home.
He was born Sept. 23, 1955, in Longview, to Henderson Jr., and Laverne (McCoy) Howard. Paul graduated with the Kelso High School Class of 1973.
He married Sherri Clark in Reno. They later divorced.
Paul retired as a member of Laborers' Union Local 791. He was loving, caring, and always willing to help family and friends. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, clam digging, camping, gambling, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved attending his granddaughters' sporting events. Paul had a huge heart and a beautiful smile. He loved to laugh and tease.
Paul is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mandi and Josh Marquez of Kelso; two granddaughters, Daniecea and Renelle Finley, both of Kelso; three sisters, Deborah Howard and Lita Howard, both of Kelso, and Lynda Graunitz (Patrick) of Castle Rock; four brothers, Jim Howard and Tony Howard, both of Kelso, Kenny Howard (Molly) of Salem, Ore., and Jeff Howard of Shelton, Wash.; his mother, Laverne Howard of Kelso; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henderson Howard Jr.; and a brother, Spencer Howard.
A Catholic Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 2200 Allen St., in Kelso. Father Mel Strazicich will officiate.
