Not sure what to say?

It has been my honor to meet Paul and hear stories of his colorful adventures . I particularly enjoyed his sense of humor and love for life. I think of Paul often and will miss seeing him. I am grateful to have met such a kind hearted man. Amna , you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Paul for many years at the State of Michigan. My husband George and I will always remember our lunches with Paul, discussions about opera, food, cooking, travel , politics and art. He was a fascinating conversationalist and we will always remember Paul and his pointed wit and dry humor. Our thoughts go out to his wife and family, of whom he was so proud. We will miss him.

Sorry to hear of Paul's passing. What an interesting man! I became acquainted with Paul via softball, specifically the BAC (Bureaucrats Athletic Club - so named by Paul). Paul was a person of many interests and I enjoyed conversing with him. I also was lucky to know Vince Friday, one of Paul's alter egos. While Paul would never bowl, Vince was a proud member of a bowling team with me, even if he did bowl off the wrong foot. The man will be missed.

Amna, I am so sorry for your loss-you and your family are in my thoughts.

Amna, we are so sorry for your loss. Keeping you and the entire Howland family in our thoughts.

I worked with Paul for over 30 years. I first became acquainted with him through Rotisserie Baseball. I will never forget him arriving to draft day in a Tux, cartable, white linen table cloth, candle, and a glass of wine. Truly a man of culture. Over the years he would send me post cards of his travels (mostly baseball stadiums). During the last 5-6 years of my career Paul and myself enjoyed daily walks and conversations. Thank you for the memories Paul.

So sorry to hear this, Amna. Sending prayers and hugs to you and your family.
