DOHERTY FUNERAL SERVICE Obituary

Paul Joseph Jackson - 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family and friends after a spirited battle with cancer.

Born in Providence RI. A resident of Massachusetts for 35 years. Paul was the beloved son of Joseph Samuel Jackson, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth (McGauley) Jackson. Husband of Gayla (Simonelli) Jackson. Loving father of Kara and Shae Jackson. Dear brother of Susan A. Paul loved the Red Sox, skiing and walking his puppy Kona. But more than anything else in the world he loved spending time with his family, whether it was watching his daughters ride horses, sporting events or just going out with them to breakfast.

Proud graduate of Cranston East High School and Boston College.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, willingness to help those around him and the love he had for his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, MA 02144 on Saturday May 6 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM followed by a Funeral Home Service at 12:30 PM.

Not sure what to say?

I look back with fondness of my memories of Paul

Always in our thoughts and prayers. Watching the Yankees v Red Sox has never been the same. Best wishes Gayla and the girls.

Paul showed such character and grace as he fought his illness with a determination and force of will that inspired all of us. I have always felt it a privilege to have known him. To his sister and family, I offer my deepest condolences.

Dear Gayla, I grew up on the same street as Paul and have found memories of his friendship. He brought joy and laughter to whomever was around him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am sorry for your loss.

Dear Gayla , I was just informed of Paul 's death . Paul was an extraordinary person . Many of my greatest memories while dating Bobby Carrellas included Paul's presence . He was quick witted , kind hearted and always a gentlemen . The video tribute certainly highlighted his devotion to you and your beautiful girls .

To Gayla, Kara, Shae, Susan and Mr. Jackson...it is difficult to express my emotion as I am so very deeply saddened by the passing of Paul. For those of us who knew him, we love him, and we always will as he has our hearts forever. My heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with all of you; I know how much he so loved his family. From the moment we met over 40 years ago, and throughout all these years, he always was and will continue to be, a most special person to me.

Gayla, my thoughts are with you and your lovely girls. Cherish those wonderful memories and stay strong. Love, Eva.

Paul,
Thank you my friend for your encouraging words during our battle with the evil one. This past year and a half proved to be the most difficult time of both our lives. Steven and I miss you greatly.
Rest In Peace my friend.

I just heard about Paul today. I am so
sorry for your loss and will pray you will continue to feel his presence in your life going forward. He will always be with you. My deepest sympathy.
