KERSHAW, Paul
Paul Kershaw, 86, beloved husband of Beatrice (Lessard) Kershaw, his wife of 64 years, died Sunday, (June 12, 2011) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Stratford, CT, the son of Samuel and Sarah Kershaw, he resided in Berlin for the last nine years and previously for numerous years in Colchester and East Haddam. After serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific on the USS Alaska during World War II, he worked at Pratt and Whitney and retired as a shop foreman from J.T. Slocumb in Glastonbury. He was a devoted husband and father. His children have fond memories of fishing with him every summer. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, Paul leaves behind his devoted children, his son David Kershaw and wife Valerie, his daughter Deborah Kershaw and husband Jonathan Rifkin, and his son Mark Kershaw. He also leaves his niece Carolyn Kwiatkowski and his four grandchildren; Melissa and Heather Kershaw , Seth and Neil Rifkin.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m., directly in St Andrew the Apostle Church, Orchard Street, Rocky Hill. Interment will follow with full military honors in State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
