Paul Kinzel

Always remembering dear Paul so fondly.

Dr Kinzel was my Fresno High School French teacher. It was the impact of the French culture and literature shared by him and Mrs Ruth Dahmer of Hamilton Jr High who instilled in me interest in French culture and literature and the desire to know and experience more-of the world. I majored at Fresno State in French and became a French teacher who happily shared the riches of French and European history and culture with high schoolers in Sunnyvale and Cupertino and also earned a Masters...

Francoise, we are heartbroken to hear of Paul´s passing. Paul was so good to both of as student and colleague (before we were a couple), then to both of us as time went on. What a model of a man, and a gloriously gracious couple, Paul and Francoise. Our best from Reno, NV.

Our condolences and love go out to Françoise and the family. Paul and Françoise Kinzel were first of all friends of my (Roberta´s) mother through Fresno High School. My mother, Hazel Tucker, held a baby shower for Françoise, which I remember as a lot of fun. Then I was lucky enough to have Paul Kinzel for French. Paul had a magnificent singing voice and was kind enough to sing Schubert´s Ave Maria at Ron´s and my wedding, going on 52 years ago now! Not to mention that my brother-in-law...

The Kinzels and Bennetts were close friends, through decades. My dad, Dr. Bob L. Bennett, knew Paul through their undergraduate years in the Fresno State Music Department; furthermore, Dad and Paul both spent time in Paris, via Fulbright Scholarships. Our families had deep ties throughout the decades, in Fresno. Our deepest sympathies to Francoise, Anne, and Marc. Brian FYI: Dad passed in 2012; Mom in 2017.
