Not sure what to say?

I was so heartbroken to learn long after the fact of Matt's passing. It's been a lot of years since I have worked in the Seattle art community, and I came to this news late. I worked with Matt for four years at Foster/White Gallery in Pioneer Square in the late 1980s, early 1990s. Matt was not only my co-worker, but became a close friend. He was one of the most genuine, kind, gently wise, sweet people I have ever known. We were a close-knit group at Foster/White, and all often spent time...

Sincerest condolences...we apologize that we were not aware of Matt's passing last year..... and more shocked and saddened that he is no longer with us. True gentleman and professional. The art shipping world is not the same without his smile, courtesy, and good will....

megan, condolences. amidst the insanity that is transporting fine art coast to coast, matt maintained a genuinely cheerful disposition. he was a delight to work with and will be missed by the honor fraser team. our thoughts are with you and the crater crew.

Sending condolences to Megan and the family. Matt went above and beyond in the interactions I had with him and his generosity will be greatly missed.

I am stunned and saddened to hear this news Megan.
Although we had not met live, my conversations with Matt
were warm, courteous, respectful, and professional.
He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family. Sending love and peace, Marcel

The sudden and tragic loss of Matthew was a blow to me. I've known Matthew and Megan for almost as long as I've had my gallery. His smiling face and warm heart were a much needed boost during the crunch of many art fairs. He was as at my gallery a few days before his accident -- picking up artwork to take to NYC -- and I still recall his genuine humor and deep camaraderie. He was (and is) an example of deep-felt humanity that draws me to my profession (and stands in contrast to superficial...

I feel for those close to Matt. I liked Matt as soon as I met him, and wanted to use his services as much as possible so he or Megan would be around here in San Francisco. It is shocking that such a good person is no longer here.

Matt was a work colleague and a friend, someone that was relied on as much for his knowledge as his cheerfulness.

Matt was a kind man and wonderful person to work with. He was an integral and important part of the art community in the Pacific Northwest. Matt will be terribly missed. My deepest condolences to Megan and Matt's family.
