Not sure what to say?

I was a student of his at Saxe Middle School(Junior High back then) in the early 1980s(school year 1981-1982). He was a nice teacher when I took him. The one thing I remember about him was his telling this story about traveling in the South(may have been Lousiana). He was at a gas station or a restaurant(not sure which) and it blew his mind how the person working there pronounced their words and the phrases used. I was amused by it because I had moved to New Canaan from Oklahoma in 1980.

I was so sad to hear of an old Center and Saxe Teacher passing. I attended in the mid 60's. Too young to leave us. I especially remember him while attending Saxe Jr. High - he was a fantastic teacher! My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

An old student, Diane McSweeney Allen

My heartfelt condolences go out to the family. Paul was the most wonderful man, kind heart, giving, thoughtful, generous, funny, very astute, people lover, flirt, dedicated and no Paul, you can't buy a snow blower in New Bern! He will be missed in my heart. I met him in 2004 sitting at the Sheraton figuring out how many cans of paint it would take to paint this cylinder the size of a silo! There he sat with a pen and paper asking, "Are you using 1 gallon or 5?" That was fun.

All our best to family. Paulie was a wonderful man and will be missed.

In memory of Paul, who made my first years at Saxe lighter with his sense of humor and astute, humorous, observations of students.

So sorry to hear of Paul's death. Kate & Bob Anderson
