Not sure what to say?

Ruth, Erin, & Paul, I have had such a wonderful time of remembering Youth Music Camp. As a youth camper(68-72), it was an experience I will never forget. Dr. McCommon had the most fun camp in the world! Heaven is rejoicing with his beautiful voice! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

As Twila and I attended the wonderful celebration yesterday, somehow we missed the guest registry. I am so grateful for Dr. McCommon's encouragement, from my call in 1952, through teaching music schools around the state for the Ga.Bap.Music Dept. during the summer of 1957, to preaching my ordination sermon at Beecher Hills in Atlanta, to singing our tenor "Messiah" solos in Athens. His challenge for excellence was evident in the choir festivals and the church music schools. His consistent...

Serving as Dr. McCommon's secretary 1966-1970 (following Miss Todd), was one of the most enjoyable times in my life. His insistence on excellence in every effort made an indelible impression on me. When I informed him that my husband and I were expecting a baby, he commented that he never had that problem with Miss Todd! The service today was a joy and I will always remember it. Ruth, Paul, Erin - I will be praying for God's comfort and peace to fill your lives. Jackie Reed

Rith, I know heaven is glad to have such a great tenor!Dr. Mac was such a wonderful person--he meant so much to me and so many. My prayers are with all of you.

We are so sorry about Paul's passing. He was such an influence and important part of so many people's lives.

Ruth, Erin and Paul, I will miss Dr. Paul. He was a presence in my life off and on for so long. I remember Youth Music camp as a camper (68-72) and then as a young new Nurse acting as camp nurse. Not to mention the years of Choir Festivals. Then I moved out of state but in recent years seeing him again at BNF national meetings. His love of God and service to others will always stand out in my memory.

Erin and Paul, I am so sorry to hear of our loss. He will be greatly missed but wonderfully remembered. We are thankful for each of you being a part of our lives.

Paul McCommon was a wonderful preacher, singer, choir director and long time friend from old West End Baptist Church, and we will miss him.
