NOLTE, Paul Harold, Sr., loving father, caring friend, and devout Catholic, passed away on June 29, 2013, in Richmond, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Nolte; his brothers, Rev. William J. Nolte, Jr. and Robert Nolte; sister, Marguerite Benedetti; and grandson, Timothy J. Dart. He was a graduate of Benedictine High School and Mount Saint Mary's College and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Paul retired from the County of Henrico, where he worked for 22 years in the Department of Public Utilities as a Controller. He was known for his quirky sense of humor, inventions, award-winning preserves and bread, as well as his gardenias and passion for classical music. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, July 2, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. The word of God says to judge a tree by the fruit it bears. Mr. Nolte was proud of the fruit. The good tree bears good fruit.
There is also an old saying that the fruit does not fall far from the tree. Mr. Nolte sprouted forth good seed.
I remember Mr. Nolte. On the halls of the government center, he seemed quiet; yet warm. It is good to know that the Love of God was manifest in his life through his family devotions.
May God continue to bless the family during this...
