Harcourt – Paul T. Olson, 109, of Friendship Haven, formerly of Harcourt, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Simpson Health Center Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge. Private family burial of casket will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Lost Grove Township Cemetery, Harcourt. Memorial Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Celebration Center, Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge, with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 NOON Thursday, February 19, 2015 until service time. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie, is in charge of arrrangements. Paul is survived by his two nieces; two nephews; and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one sister and two brothers. Paul Theodore Olson was born to August and Emma (Johnson) Olson on December 10, 1905, at Clay Township. He was baptized in the Harcourt Lutheran Church and confirmed on June 13, 1920. He attended Adamson country school in Clay Township and graduated from the Harcourt High School in 1925. He farmed with his father. On December 28, 1959, he married Wilma Meusborn at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. They continued to live on the family farm. Wilma taught vocal music in the Fort Dodge public school system. She died in 1984. Paul held different offices in Faith Lutheran Church at Harcourt; was active in the former Fort Dodge Civic Music Assn; the Fort Dodge Camera Club; the Webster County Farm Bureau and the Harcourt Lions Club. He played saxophone in bands at Gowrie and Harcourt, Dayton and Stratford; several dance bands and several small groups that entertained at nursing homes and senior citizen centers. Memorials may be left to Faith Lutheran Church, Harcourt or Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge.
