Every year as I lay a rose on your name at the Indiana National Guard memorial, my heart is filled with sorrow. My son served with you, he was there. His heart is heavy, he still remembers your kindness and brave spirit, you are his hero, he misses you everyday. God Bless you Paul..

It took me awhile to think of what to say to a uncle I've never met. First of all, I know in my heart that Paul would be a great uncle. When I was little I had heard about him and I didn't know what to do so I sat there and cried and thought hard about why this had to happen, and why I couldn't meet him. Even though I don't really know him I will always remember him, not only for serving greatly, but for being a great uncle.
