Paul Anthony Patrick, born on May 29, 1962 in Duluth, Minnesota, to Mary Pennington and Fredrick Patrick, passed away at age 56 on February 17, 2019 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Paul is survived by a step-mother Dena Patrick, brothers, Fredrick, Steven, and Ronald; sisters, Linda and Kathy; ten niece's & nephew's, and extended family and friends at the Blue Ridge Clubhouse. He also leaves behind his cat, the beloved Garfield. In his lifetime, he was the founder of the Drop-in Center now known as On Our Own, Charlottesville. Paul was a member of Virginia's Mental Health Planning Council, the Commonwealth Clubhouse Association, and the Human Rights Board for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He received numerous awards and recognition through the City Council and the mental health community. The family invites donations in Paul's name to the Blue Ridge Clubhouse in Charlottesville, VA. Friends and family can pay their respects at the visitation on Tuesday, February 26 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 1880 N Amherst Hwy, Amherst, Virginia, 24521. Following that, there will be a funeral service, officiated by Pastor Russell Snoddy, at 2:30 p.m. at the same church.
