Paul W. Plum Sr.

Paul W. Plum Sr., 74, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away Thursday April 9, 2009 after a short illness. Paul was born June 6, 1934 in Howesville, WV to Russell and Eulalah Plum. He was the oldest of their 11 children. After service in the US Army, Paul was a manager at MTD in Cleveland for 40 years. He was a JCI Senator, avid member of the North Ridgeville Lions Club, the Moose and the Elks Clubs. He was also a member of the Danback Roadrunners, Buckeye FMCA, and Good Sams clubs. In his spare time, Paul loved to camp and play golf. Paul and his beloved wife, Shirley resided in North Ridgeville for 40 years before retiring to Punta Gorda 5 years ago. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley (Watkins), sons Paul (Deb) Plum Jr. of Kinzers, PA and Barry (Heidi) Plum of Seattle, WA, and a daughter Valerie (Paul) Braham of North Ridgeville, OH. Paul was the proud grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 1. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Dorothy Casteel and Bonnie Nelson of Newburg, WV and Roberta (Rick) Faulknier of Morgantown, WV, 5 brothers, Charles (Marcina) and John of Newburg, WV, Jack (Marty) of Tunnelton, WV, Calvin (Doris) of Independence, WV and Francis (Connie) of Brooklyn, OH. He is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Betty and Kathy of Newburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Cheryl Denise, and 2 brothers, Donald and Martin. A gathering for friends and family will be 5-8 pm Tuesday April 14th at David Bogner Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd in North Ridgeville. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday April 15th at 10:30 am at the First Congregational Church, 36363 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. John Fairweather, Pastor, will officiate. Graveside service will be immediately following at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Avon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to honor Paul to the National MS Society, 6511 Rockside Rd, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131. Please restrict your gifts to local programs of the chapter.
