Paul R. Quear, 94, of Pen Argyl, passed away, Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospice House, East Stroudsburg.  He was the husband of the late Lois (Cory) Quear, who passed away, November 16, 2005. 


Born in Wind Gap, September 29, 1930, he was the son of the late Leslie T. and Mary (Frable) Quear. 


Prior to retiring he was employed as a mechanic for the former Bear Automotive, Bangor.  


Paul was an avid race car driver and hunter. 


He is survived by a son, Robert P. Quear and his wife Lucia of Pen Argyl, four grandchildren, Michlyn Cappola, Paula Griffin, Lauren Licari and Chad Caiazzo, twelve great grandchildren, Davey Cappola, Jude Murante, Renee, Samuel, Alexander and Anna Roberts, Serafina and Rocco Licari, and Mason, Iris and Violet Caiazzo, and three great grandchildren, Michael Cappola, Jameson and Jackson Hockenbury. 


He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas L. Quear and two sisters, Dorthea Kneebone and Arlene Pysher. 


At Paul’s request, all services will be private with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl.  The Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, Pen Argyl is in charge of arrangements.

Bob sorry for the loss of your dad. Worked at BEAR with him and Tom. He was always a good time. I'll never forget the times we had up at Pocono Raceway. We'd laugh so hard it hurt. What a fun, cool guy. R.I.P. Paul

My husband Paul, worked with Paul many years at Bear and they also spent many years involved in racing. I myself met him many times and knew him to be just a great guy and friend to my husband. So sorry for your loss, may he R.I.P.

Met Paul a number of times over my brother and nephew Bill Lowden Jr & Sr´s garage - they were all big into racing.
