Paul S. Reszka of Traverse City, formerly of Davison, went to be with his Lord on May 7, 2018 at Traverse Victorian, with his family surrounding him. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of St. John Catholic Cemetery on Saturday June 2, 2018, were Paul has been entombed.

Paul was born June 29, 1928 to Bert “Brownie’ and Berneda Reszka of who preceded Paul in death. Paul was best known for his time working with his brother Ralph at Reszka’s IGA. After a fire of the first store on Lapeer Road in Burton, Paul and his brother Ralph built a new store still operating as an IGA, just down the road from the first store. Paul had an opportunity to buy and existing IGA in Rochester Michigan as well as serving on the Board of Directors of Super Foods the parent company of IGA.

In 1965 Paul and his wife Dianne opened up a family Billiard Room called Rac-n-Cue in Burton Michigan. Paul hosted such professionals such as Jimmy Carris, Willy Masconi and Tom Cosmo.

In 1969 Paul returned to Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing a division of General Motors as a journeyman tool & die Maker and machine repair. Paul retired in 1985 to spend time with his wife Dianne and his grandchildren: Melissa, Rachel, Kierstin, and Nick.

Paul leaves behind his wife of 62 years of marriage Dianne, son Steve (Athena) Reszka, four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brother Ralph Reszka, sister Dorothy Johnson, and parents Bert & Berneda Reszka. Share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
