ROBERTS, Paul E. - Of Flint, age 89, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Roger E. Cleeton officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Paul was born in Otisville, MI on February 1, 1920. On July 17, 1942, he married Grace Shirkey in Flint. He was a member of Pierce Senior Center. He retired from Perry Printing. Surviving are son, Donald of Flint; 3 daughters, Carolyn Roberts of Davison, Barbara and husband Steve Cartwright of Kalamazoo, LuAnn Roberts of Flint; Granddaughter Katie Cartwright. I worked with Paul at Perry printing. He was a tower of strength in the organization. He called me last summer when Jim Levalley died and we reminisced. He was also my roomate when we had knee surgery. Belive me he was one great human being.
