Paul Robertson Obituary

Paul E Robertson Mr. Paul E. Robertson, 83, was called to heaven on October 15, 2012 on his 35th wedding anniversary to Nettie Robertson of Conroe, Texas. Mr. Robertson was a native of Indiana and moved to Houston, Texas in 1957. He later moved to Shreveport, La. where Mr. Robertson was employed by Melton Truck Lines as vice president of operations until 1985 when he and his wife Nettie formed Robertson Transports, Inc. They operated the company until it was sold in 1993. After that they operated PNR Financial Services LLC and Golden Age Leasing LLC until 1996. Mr. Robertson was a past member of various transportation associations and traffic club in Texas and Louisiana. He was a past member of the Rotary Club, the Optimist Club, the Shreveport Yacht Club and SCORE. Mr. Robertson has written four books and numerous short essays, and an inventor holding four U.S. Patents. Through the years he was an accomplished amateur artist, doing paintings and copper repose' for friends and relatives. After moving to Conroe, Texas in 2000, he and his wife Nettie were avid gardeners, collecting seed and plants from all over the USA, propagating them at their home and sharing them with friends nationwide. Paul had many friends scattered across the USA in the trucking and allied industry and the traffic departments of large and small companies across the country. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, James R. and Bonnie Robertson and his brothers, Jack Robertson, Joe Robertson, Bruce Robertson and Tommy Robertson. He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Nettie Robertson; daughter and husband, Molly and Phillip Johnson of Panorama Village; son, Jim Robertson and wife Barbara of League City and daughters; Bonnie, Melissa and Paula all of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Jessica Jay and Stephanie Varner; grandsons, James Robertson, Ryan Mooreland, Will Mooreland and Alex Whitney; sister, Bonnie Myers; sister-in-law, Gene Robertson. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and first cousins and a host of loving friends also survive. Funeral services were held at Cashner Colonial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, it is Paul and Nettie's wish that anyone so inclined plant a flowering tree or shrub in their hometown. Failing that, just wave and smile at the next ten truck drivers you meet on the highway!

Uncle Paul and my dad, Bruce spent many hours talking on the phone about projects, computers and all manner of things. Paul is extremely intelligent, well read, talented and not afraid to try his hand at something from welding, to pottery to oil painting to the art of Bonsai. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to visit and spend a pleasant summer day mid-June with Paul and Nettie. We spoke of many things, some very close to the heart as we reminisced –no, politics, just ideas, longings, memories and business ideas. Finally, I could see how he and dad could talk so long. Perhaps the Robertson brothers are having a good catch up conversation now? It's the end of an era and a beginning to new adventures. He will be missed.
With love from Peggy and Randy Williams and family (Randall, James Ryan & Jenny and little Emma)

A wonderful Uncle, A man of many talents. He did them all well. He loved us all but what he did best was love Nettie. I found that love inspirational and admired him for his capacity to love. I will miss him, like I miss my Dad, and yet I will always have them because I "know what they would say". The saying goes
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". Love Conda

I'M GOING TO MISS YOU GRANDAD. TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEARTAND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING

So sorry to hear the news. I had a phone conversation with Uncle Paul less then 3 weeks ago. We talked about all the topics of the day - politics, religion, gay marriage, investments and more politics. He will be missed.

My mom, Bonnie, brother Randy, and I send our thoughts and prayers to his family.
