Dear Sue. We wish we could join you today at Paul's memorial service, but we have an early flight out of town. While I never knew Paul, I was a classmate of his brother John (Carleton '62) and came across this notice today in a Google search. Condolences to all the family.

My prayers go out to Paul's family for their loss. I worked with him at the old Miller Hospital in the O.R.; he had a great sense of humor which the entire staff appreciated. He is the last of the young surgeons that was left that I had the privilege to work with after coming back from the war. God Bless you Sir.

May perpetual light shine upon him.

He left a great legacy. As a nurse in the early years of his practice in St Paul, I got to know him. He treated us all with respect, a great surgeon who cared about his patients, and he had a great smile and laugh. I remember many many years ago, I had to make a quick emergency run to the grocery store, got there and realized I was a mess and even still had my slippers on, trying to hurry thru unnoticed, I heard hi Renée.
