Paul-Spangrud-Obituary

Paul C. Spangrud

Obituary

Spangrud, Paul C. Age 47, of Hopkins, passed away unexpectedly April 28 of a heart attack. Paul was so loved by his parents, Vern and Mary; his two sisters, Tammy (Mike, Katie and Jayden) and Necole, and his brother, Timothy. Paul leaves behind his wife and best friend, Nancy, and his son and biggest joy, William. Paul's innovative and curious mind led him to a career in telecommunications, including 23 years at Norstan, where he started as an office errand boy at 17, learned and practiced engineering, and achieved Presidential Club status in sales. Paul loved gadgets and good laughs, technology and travel, castles and cars, Minnesota sports teams and Minnesota seasons, New England clam chowder and German beer, and of course, the Beatles. We love him very much and miss him greatly. Services will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 715 Minnetonka Mills Rd., Hopkins on Monday, May 4th at 11:00 AM with a memorial reception at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet, Hopkins at 12:30 PM. Memorials preferred to the William Spangrud Scholarship Fund, accepted at the services or at any Wells Fargo branch. Cremation Society Edina Chapel (952-924-4100).

God bless the loved ones of Paul with strength to endure this enormous loss. I am so shocked and saddened, as are we all. Life is so unfair. I had the pleasure of working with Paul at Norstan during the 9 years I was there. He was always the sweetest, kindest most gentle spirit to be around...the angels have welcomed him with open arms.
