Rochester, NH: Paul J. Sylvain, 76, of 16 Washington Street, died Sunday September 26, 2004 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a period of failing health.
Mr. Sylvain was born in Rochester, NH on December 22, 1927, the son of Joseph and Eliza (Carignan) Sylvain and was a lifetime resident of Rochester. He was a retired electronic technician from General Electric in Somersworth, NH, was a communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester and was a member of the NESSA Model Airplane Flying Club in Berwick, Maine.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeanne (Tremblay) Sylvain of Rochester, 3 sons: Leo Sylvain of Manchester, NH, George Sylvain of New Durham, NH and Donald Sylvain of Somersworth, NH, 1 daughter, Claire LaPointe of Manchester, NH, his Step-Mother, Mary Sylvain of Rochester, 2 brothers: John Sylvain of Rochester and Richard Sylvain of Somersworth, NH, 1 sister, Rita Dusseault of Somersworth, NH, 7 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son Raymond Sylvain who died on March 29, 2004 and a brother, Robert Sylvain.
Visitation will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester, NH on Tuesday from 7 – 9 PM.
