Our sincere condolences to Paul Speckled-Rock and the other surviving relatives of Governor Paul Tafoya. He was an honorable man and generous with his time and talents. He along with my grandfather, Alcario Tafoya, did battle with immovable forces in the many attempts to repeal the so called 1935 "resolution" to deny tribal membership to the children of the tribe's women who married non-Santa Clarans.
