N. J. Hogenkamp Sons, Inc. - Minster Obituary

Paul D. Thieman, age 68 of Sidney, Ohio passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025.  Paul was born on March 7, 1957 in St. Marys, Ohio, the fourth son of Elizabeth and Harold Thieman of Minster, Ohio. At the age of one year Paul developed a very high fever. Despite receiving proper medical attention, the fever damaged his brain, rendering him unable to speak or live a normal life.  He was nevertheless happy and without pain. Paul initially resided in Columbus, and later in Tiffin for many years. The past 15 years he resided in Rescare in Sidney, where he received good care in a family-type setting.  Paul enjoyed attending the workshop at S & H Products for years and made many friends there.  The family especially thanks Stephen Blatchly, M.D. for his care of Paul.

Paul is survived by his brothers, Mark (Barb) Thieman of Minster, James (Tonya) Thieman of Sidney, and Craig (Kristie) Thieman of Louisville, sister Lynn (Keith) Benninghoff of Allentown, PA, and a sister-in-law Elaine Thieman, of Loveland, Ohio, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Elizabeth Thieman and his brother Robert Thieman, formerly of Loveland, Ohio.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the church where Paul was baptized, St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster, on Monday, August 18 at 10:00 AM followed by a private burial in St. Augustine Cemetery in Minster. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Condolences may be left at www.hogenkampfh.com.

God bless Paul

Deepest Sympathy to your family. Remembering Paul as one of the neighbor boys. His time on earth was in some small way to help make you who you are today. Now he is safe in the arms of God.

You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Love to all of the Thieman family.
Fred and Jill Grimm

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. He is now safe at home with Mom and Dad. I know Harold and Betty wrapped their arms around him and welcomed him with love.
