Paul Edward Tichenor, 62, of Fairmont, passed away, Saturday, September 4, 2004 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born, April 1, 1942, a son of the late Staley and Marqueritte Tichenor.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (Anderson) Tichenor, whom he married December 26, 1986. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Paula Goodrich, Regina “Jenny” Simmons and Julie Breed all of Shinnston; three step-sons, Ricky Newbrough of Mannington, Bobby Newbrough of Barrackville and Timmy Newbrough of Enterprise; three step-daughters, Cathy Martin of Fairmont, Connie Booth of Mannington and Janet Villers of Farmington; many grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Tichenor of Shinnston; two sisters, Shirley Tichenor of Shinnston and Martha Baker of Weirton; Life long friends Rose and Gary Martin of Barrackville.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tichenor was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Tommy Tichenor; two sisters, Paulette Tichenor Singer and Marion Matheny.
Mr. Tichenor was a veteran of the US Army. He was a retired Asbestos worker for Local #2 out of Pittsburgh, PA, with more than 26 years. He was a member of the Riverside Apostolic Church. He enjoyed lawn care, helping other people and especially serving the Lord.
Family and friends will be received at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike Street, Shinnston, Tuesday, September 7, from 2p-9p, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 8, at 11am with Pastor David Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at the Enterprise I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Full Military Rites will be conducted by the VFW #3081, American Legion Post #12, D.A.V. WV Chapter #24 and their auxiliaries.
