My husband, Jules Chaikin, played in Paul's band in Boyle Heights in the 1950's. I went to many of the gigs and both Jules and I thought Paul was one of the coolest people we knew! We remained in contact for many years and always loved his enthusiasm and his dedication to music. So sad to hear of his passing. I hope he and Jules will be reunited in the big band in heaven.
