He was a fantastic teacher. At concerts I remember waiting for that little smile at the end of each song letting us know we made him proud. How we were lucky enough to have him instruct and guide us I'll never know but forever be grateful.

He was a fabulous teacher and always encouraged each to be their best! I have found memories of band class with him at Memorial. I remember being impressed as a high schooler that he knew so much about each and every instrument and could play them all! You will always be fondly remembered, Mr. Ulrich!

Paul, you will be deeply missed by all your friends from Madison and everywhere. You influenced a lot of great young minds to pursue music as a career and are truly a great mentor!! May you forever RIP with your family by your side!! Catch you on the other side my friend!!

I feel so fortunate to have been a part of band at Memorial H.S. with Mr. Ulrich as my teacher. He always challenged us with amazing music, crated a safe and fun atmosphere, and was supportive of those who needed extra time/attention. My condolences to the family.

Mr. Ulrich's classes, his instruction, and the friends I made in his classroom are among my fondest memories, and they remain with me today. Without a doubt, his legacy continues through each of his students. Rest well. You will be missed but never forgotten.

So many of my best memories from high school took place in Mr. Ulrich's band room. His dedication as an educator was something I never questioned; he was always, always there for students, and he made sure we knew this. His kindness, patience, and good humor were legendary! Thank you for making the lives of so many people better--I'll miss you.

I have searched for words of expression to send since Wednesday and am about to send a sympathy card which expresses personal
concern and hope for the strength and good health of Paul's remaining family. Along with close longtime friends, they face the tough and troublesome tasks ahead.
Often the true measure and depth of character, self worth, integrity and all things that matter, may be reveled in how one chooses to treat their own parents.
I know Paul's mother must have...

Mr. Ulrich was one of my favorite teachers and musical mentors - his wry humor during class and way of pulling a bunch of squirrelly high schoolers together to perform was really a gift. I am so grateful for all the advice and encouragement that led to music school and beyond. I am glad we had the chance to play music together in the last year, and wish we had more time. Ill miss you.
