Paul Wheaton was a true Christian gentleman and defender of the faith. A dedicated family man, highly intelligent and brimming over with wit and good humor, Paul will be missed by all who knew him.

Paul Wheaton was my buddy at Mariners' Church. We were sworn in as Trustees together in 2001 and shared interests in classical music, jazz, art, and theatre. My husband and I had many enjoyable times with him and JoAnne attending Detroit Concert Choir performances, musical productions at the Stagecrafters in Royal Oak, and of course, church functions. Paul's humor was non-stop and non-pareil. He could whip up a joke, a pun, and a limerick on the spot and would often make people groan...

We were so sorry to hear about Mr. Wheaton. I have so many fond memories of him at the family's beautiful cottage on Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. What an amazing man! His wife, daughters and grandchildren are in our thoughts and prayers. Sending lots of love your way.
