Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, Inc. - Perkasie Obituary

Paul T. Wilczynski, of Sellersville, PA entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 81 years young.

He was the loving husband of the late Arlene (Seman) Wilczynski who passed away within a year of celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Paul is survived by his two daughters, Nadine A. Magaletta and her husband Philip Magaletta Jr., of Columbia, MD, and Andrea M. Wilczynski-Urbaniak and her husband Thomas Urbaniak II, of Yardley, PA; four grandchildren, Philip Magaletta III, Olivia Magaletta, Thomas Urbaniak III, and Ania Urbaniak; two brothers, Joseph Wilczynski, of Rutherford, NJ. Thomas Wilczynski, of Mayfield, PA, and many nieces and nephews that adored him.  Born in Richmondale, PA, he was the son of the late Paul P. and Anna (Titko) Wilczynski.

Paul had always been a car enthusiast and learned how to drive at a very young age. Being extremely responsible and mature he ran jobs driving back and forth to Philadelphia when he was only 14 years old.  In what was to become one common theme throughout his life - driving emerged as his passion and profession, he was a “Transportation Expert.”

Paul moved to Philadelphia in the early 60’s and married Arlene in 1963. He worked for Philip’s 66, Curtis Publishing and eventually drove for Glasgow Construction building the roads and refineries in and around the Philadelphia area. Paul could be found in his “orange truck” driving and delivering asphalt under his handle “The Pope”. He successfully rounded out his 37 years at Glasgow Construction retiring in 2003.

Throughout the years, Paul and Arlene loved traveling, visiting family and friends; however their greatest joy was spending time with their grandchildren, Philip and Olivia. Pop Pop once surprised 5 year old Philip with an adventure to the quarry to sit in his orange truck and see all the other construction vehicles.  As Olivia got older he cherished their regular chats where he could share stories about his everlasting love for her Grandmother, Arlene. One of his favorite family events was the infamous Wilczynski Christmas Party that has been a tradition for multiple decades.  Uncle Paul was known for having the best tacky gift!

Once Paul and Arlene became empty nesters, they found their forever home in the Rosecliff Community, where they made a host of friends, creating and sharing many memories, both together, and once again after Arlene departed. Paul was blessed to become a grandfather once again and was able to visit Thomas and Ania each week for the past nine years.  Pop Pop was known for bringing them lots of goodies but mostly creating priceless memories playing games, drawing pictures and of course car rides.

If you knew anything about Paul, you knew his love language was cars. There wasn’t a car on the road or lot that he didn’t love. His all-time favorites were his ‘41 Ford, ‘48 Chevy Truck, and ’73 Dodge Dart, not to mention his Kawasaki Motorcycle.  Once Arlene passed, Paul was well known for driving around nonstop in his 2012 white Volkswagen Beetle.  He often said he felt like a kid again. He also had an extensive collection of license plates including one from each state and several countries that he had found, purchased or was gifted from friends and family throughout the years.

Paul was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Philadelphia. During his golden years he attended 10:00 AM mass regularly at St. Agnes with his Rosecliff Family. Outside of church you could find Paul exercising at the YMCA, greeting neighbors at the mailbox or volunteering at Grand View Hospital’s Recovery Room Thrift Shop where he was known to be “a reliable and sweet man” for fourteen years. Paul was also an active participant and conversationalist with the “Retired Older Men Eating Out” (ROMEO) group, developing a specialization in scrapple and other breakfast meats.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 12, 2023, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA where family and friends may call from 9:00 to 9:45 AM. To celebrate his life, consider wearing BLUE on Friday, Paul’s favorite color.

Funerals are a time to be grateful for the moments we had with our loved one and sometimes the greatest tribute is an expression of love for another.  With this in mind, in lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider offering a small Act of Random Kindness for another in remembrance of Paul. He lived his life enjoying the opportunity to bring a smile to others through everyday acts of kindness. The family believes the most thoughtful way to honor his life would be to continue sharing the wonderful example he offered to all.

In order to keep Paul’s memory alive, the family would appreciate if you could share a special memory on the digital guestbook page. Paul will forever be remembered for his warm smile, kindness and being the ultimate gentleman.

Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, Inc., 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
