Not sure what to say?

I am truly saddened by his departure but honored to have known and worked for him at Sutter Hill Ventures. Paul would start the day with his big smile and greet everyone. He was Compassionate, Intelligent, Intuitive and very Witty. He was a Legend in his own time. He will be sorely missed but I know God has reserved a corner office just for him. My sincere sympathy to the Wythes Family.

When I was the young and not yet very knowledgeable editor at Venture Capital Journal, Paul was gracious with his time and openly shared the investment activity of Sutter Hill whenever I visited with him. He is one of a handful of venture fund senior statesmen that I truly admired and respected. He left a marvelous legacy and great memories. My sympathy to his family on their loss.

Paul, a man of many achievements, and a genuinely likeable human being, has passed from us. But let there be no sadness of farewell, let us rather upon his courage and good spirit dwell. He battled bravely until the end, and we shall cherish our memories of a true friend.

I've know Paul since the mid-'70s. Always a great astute businessman but beyond that gracious, compassionate and a great human being. Loyal always to Princeton but acknowledging that some of us went to Harvard. His philanthropy was admirable. I'm glad that I had a chance in recent years to see him often at The Palo Alto Club where he was one of the longest term members. He leaves a lot of friends who like me, send their most sincere condolences to Marcia and his family.
