Paul Steven Younghaus COLUMBIA Paul fought a courageous battle against cancer before departing this life for his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. A celebration service, honoring the life of Paul Steven Younghaus, 56, will be held at noon on Monday, January 11, 2016, at St. Andrews Evangelical Church with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. in Ft. I thought of you today... out of the blue. What a treasured friend and confidant you were back in the Fort Jackson days, and what a team we were. I send you all my love and will look for you the next time my husband and I visit his parents at the cemetery. You were a patriot, a great friend, a loving husband and devoted dad. I'm sorry I learned tonight that you had moved on. Even after you made my desk explode. <3 to you my friend.

Paul and I just missed each other at FEN Okinawa, but through other military broadcasters we connected on Facebook and became friends. I left Facebook on Dec 30th and just now found out about his passing and wanted to offer my sympathies. I know through several conversations that he was prepared to move on to the next life and meet Christ, and I'm sure he has found ways to be busy and productive already.

Paul added me on Facebook a number of years ago and I realized then what an honourable man he was, born in Port Hope, not far from where I live in Toronto Canada, Paul was a few months younger than me. I often sent him my artwork which he always complimented me for. A truly finest of the fine man. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and all those who had the honour and pleasure of knowing him on Facebook, Indeed I miss him. - Dean Forward, Gun Sergeant, Royal Canadian Artillery, Canadian Armed Forces (Ret'd).

After viewing the Photo Gallery of Paul & April, their family, and friends, and reading of Paul's outstanding career, his accomplishments and awards, I am honored but humbled to have been counted as one of Paul's many friends and Marine brother. Paul and April, you make this 'Old Corps' Marine's heart sing! Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful).

We have lost a brother Marine and a close friend, but his family has lost a husband, a father, a brother. Paul was always the soul of concern for other human beings, sharing the love of Christ at every opportunity. His service to his nation, his Marine Corps, his family and neighbors goes above and beyond what we normally expect of men. We thank God his wife and sons had Paul for the time they did, and we look forward to seeing him again, for given the level of Paul's faith, we know for certain where he has gone. April, I feel like I know Paul after looking at all of your family's pictures. Paul lived such a full life and it is evident he loved you all with an amazing love. Thank you so much for sharing him with us. I'm sorry that I never got to meet him. I am so sorry for your loss. I know we say it is a comfort to know that we will all be with him again one day when we all come together to meet our Lord, but we are praying for you now and that the Lord will comfort you in a special way now and give you the strength that you need. Just know that we love you and the boys and you will be continually in our prayers. Also April, I haven't seen you in years, but may I say, you have grown into a beautiful young woman. We love you. April, Nicholas, Tyler, and Ethan the Paxton's in Massachusetts send you our love and prayers. What an honor and a privilege to call you guys and your husband and father, Paul, friends. What an encouragement to watch Paul's life become the salt and light for Jesus that he became over the years. May God continue to bless you, and may you rejoice in Jesus, as Paul is most certainly to be doing now. We love you guys!

April,I am praying for you always, I am sorry for your loss of a great man. I can hardly wait for all of us to meet again and see him in his new body. i remember a few years back he and I were debating which song was the best, His was I am not home yet this is not where I belong and mine was God's not dead. He is home where he belongs unfortunately it's not here with us who will miss him greatly. RIP Paul.

Dear April and children, I am so sorry for your's and our loss. One of the strongest links in our Marine Corps League family chain of command has been broken. We will struggle to make those loose ends meet again, but filling that gap will not be easy. I wish I had had the opportunity to have thanked Paul for all that he has done for us and me personally with his love of photography and of our military. Semper Fi brother Paul, "Rest easy, sleep well my brother. Know the line has held, your job is done. Rest easy, sleep well."
