My condolences to Paula's family, friends and colleagues. I had the great pleasure of hearing her speak at two ECE conference some years ago and several of her leadership books graced my professional bookshelves for many decades. She was an inspiration, a visionary and a champion in my field. I only realized after her untimely passing that Paula taught at Mills College where I obtained my Master's degree and that her childcare center was in Alamo, which holds a special place for me because...

I just learned of Paulas passing through Facebook. What a beam of light she has been and will continue to be. Condolences, Darrell.

I was introduced to Paula more than 8 years ago when I was diagnosed with the same cancer. Our surgeon thought it would be good for me to talk to her.

He was right, paula gave me strength and hope when I had none and was sure that the worst would happen to me.

I spoke with her on the phone many times and first got to meet her when she visited me in the hospital.

Talking to her made me a stronger person and allowed me to accept my cancer and what is in store for...

Dr. Paula Jorde Bloom, age 70, died peacefully in her home on February 17th. after living with cancer for over 18 years. Paula was a pioneer in the development of leadership training and accreditation for early childhood education and published numerous articles and over 20 books in her field.
