GEREN, Paula Elizabeth - Of Flint, age 70, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Brian's House in Davison. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Dr. Darrell Foltz officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Flint Pregnancy Crisis Center, 3404 South Saginaw Street, Flint, MI 48502. Visitation 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Paula was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 27, 1941, daughter of Kenneth P. and Margaret (Johnson) Hurd, and lived in Chicago, and Battle Creek before moving to the Flint area in 1987. She married Frank Geren on October 5, 1963 in Chicago. Paula was a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc and a former member of North Baptist Church. She loved her flower garden and shopping for bargains but above everything else, loved her family. Her passion was the Flint Pregnancy Crisis Center and anything to do with babies and children. She was unselfish. always putting family and friends first. She adored her two Shih-Tzu puppies, Gidget and Molly. Surviving are husband, Frank; children, Kendra (Steve) Lucas, Tamara (Ken) Taylor, Frank Jr. (Tammy) Geren and Jessica (Michael) Anderson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much; brother, Ralph (Carolyn) Hurd. She was preceded in death by son, Paul Geren in 1987 and sister, Margaret Sorenson in 2009. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com
