Paula Evelyn Oldfield age 90 of Watertown died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at The Pavilion in Lebanon. She was the daughter of the late Frank West and Evelyn Woodard Groom and was preceded in death by her sisters, Lura Brown Bowlin, Ruth Maxine Fitch and Mary Frank Groom. Paula was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Odell Oldfield in 1988. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Pamela Carol and Ken Hoffman of Franklin, Laleta Jan and Don Shipper of Watertown, Kristina Gail and Bill McKee of Lebanon, Nicola Lee and Danny Vantrease of Mt. Juliet; special nephew, David West Fitch and his wife, Etta of Gallatin; sisters, Esther Christine Groom Arrington of Lebanon and Marjorie Woodard Groom Kennedy of Sioux City, IA; sisters-in-law, Henrietta Oldfield Sadler and Clara Oldfield Hoover Brewer of Canton, TX, Roberta Oldfield of Sayra, OK; brother-in-law, James E. Fitch of Narka, KS; grandchildren, Donald Francis (Melissa) Shipper, William Clay Shipper, Rachel Lynne McKee, Emily Gail McKee (Billy) Anderson, Leane Vantrease (Paul) George, Kelley Allen (Olivia) Vantrease, Rebecca Anne Vantrease (Jonathan)Cook; 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Special friend, Ruth Hallman and the Watertown First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Atnip officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. till service time on Saturday. Interment will be at Jones Hill Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff and employees of Southern Manor Living and The Pavilion for her care. Memorial donations may be made to the Watertown Wilson County Library, Public Square, Watertown, TN 37184.

Laleta, Pam, Kristina, and Nicola, Your mother was a fine person. I have such fond memories of her when I was growing up. I remember her as this spirited little woman who spoke her mind and knew how to get things done. She had a strong influence on me during my developing years.
