Not sure what to say?

I send my deepest condolences to the Hawkey family. Although we lost touch over the years, I have never forgotten Paula´s joyful demeanor, her friendship, guidance, encouragement and generosity of time afforded me, a 1st year teacher. It was so evident that she loved teaching and was dedicated to her students. In 1970 I returned home to Kettering to live with my parents while my husband served in Viet Nam. Mr. Trent, principal, hired me to teach 4th grade at Croftshire Elementary for the...

Paula was such a blessing to so many. What a positive, loving person. Prayers for her family that she loved so deeply.

Such a lovely person. Such a great mom. Such a strong advocate for our school community. Such a privilege to have known her. Bonnie Brendel EHMS

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.

I saw the same kind of commitment from a very good teacher as David Trent writes about. She was all in for her students a very great addition to a great teaching staff in Kettering. As the school psychologist I was I her class several times and know she loved her job. I am sure she was the same kind of mother and will be missed. David Gray

Paula was one of a kind in the teaching profession, a master teacher who always had the best interests of her students in mind. Her legacy will continue through the many lessons she instilled in her students. RIP

My sympathies are with you all. Paula was such a wonderful lady.

Paula was an absolute blessing to everyone she encountered. Her positive, welcoming, and encouraging personality made others around her more confident, kinder and joyful. All four of our kids had her as a teacher and they all adored her. They all left school with an extra bounce in their step as she sent them home for the day. Recently two of our kids spent time with her a decade removed from having her as a teacher and the effect was the same. Fortunately, my wife and I also...

I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of sweet Paula. My mom, Deb Anderson, taught with Paula at Harman for many years and also recently passed. They were great friends and co-workers. My daughter was so sad when Paula retired because she wanted to have her as a teacher so much! Paula was a gifted teacher who made a huge impact and left a lasting legacy for so many children. She was a wonderful person. Praying for peace and comfort for your family and sending my love.
