I had Mrs. Leventman for introductory sociology at Temple University in 1964. She was an excellent, engaging teacher who sometimes used disarming examples to capture our attention. We read "Black Boy" by Richard Wright to learn about socialization - an excellent choice. I think of her often and finally googled her tonight.

I was lucky enough to meet Paula at Northeastern. She was a witty, insightful, and strong woman. Always willing to mentor, genuinely supportive, ever up for a good political discussion and frank.
