I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. It was such a shock to see her picture and write up in the paper. She was exceptionally talented, balancing school, work, and family throughout the years.
I was fortunate to keep in contact with her after she graduated from DU. She was very proud of her accomplishments but always spoke highly of her family.
May God keep you and your family close to Him and ease your pain.
