KOSAR, Pauline H. Pauline H. "Polly" Kosar, 89, of Bloomfield, wife of the late Dr. Walter P. Kosar, died August 27, 2010 in Bloomfield. Born in Hartford, daughter of Salvatore and Mary (Monaco) Carpino, Polly lived in Hartford most of her life and in Florida for 14 years prior to moving to Bloomfield. She was a graduate of the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1942, and was employed as a registered nurse at her husband's OB/GYN office. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a nurse, during World War II. Polly was a member of the Hartford Golf Club, the Friends of Elizabeth Park, the League of Women Voters and performed volunteer work with the Women's Auxiliary at Hartford Hospital. She continued her volunteer work in Florida at the Friends of Ponte Vedra Beach Library and the Baptist Beaches Hospital. Polly is survived by three children; a son, Walter P. Kosar, Jr. and his wife Mary of Pottstown, PA; two daughters, Betsy Ibsen of Manchester and Susan Kosar-Beery and her husband Jack of Pasadena, CA; two brothers, Richard Carpino and his wife Moira of West Hartford and Paul Carpino and his wife Lorrie of Pagosa Springs, CO; three sisters, Sandy Cipolla of Farmington, Mary Pensiero of Farmington and Sally Mastronarde of El Cerrito, CA; three grandchildren, Alex, Nicholas and Peter Ibsen and one great granddaughter, Kloe Ibsen. Polly also leaves son-in-law, David Bodman of Plainville; a sister-in-law, Ninfa Carpino of Wethersfield and a cousin Santina Giuliano of Old Saybrook. She was predeceased by daughter, Barbara Bodman and a brother, John Carpino. The funeral will be Wednesday, September 1, 2010 beginning at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 140 Farmington Avenue, Hartford. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Michael's Ukrainian Cemetery, Glastonbury. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel in Wethersfield.
