My mother (June) loves to recall all the years she and Pauline and Dot went away for a week in the summer to paint. One year, they all brought their husbands along on a trip to Martha's Vineyard in a minivan. Conversation was lively between Pauline the Democrat and Bob the Republican! I have many fond memories of visiting Pauline in Wolfeboro with my grandma (Pauline's sister)as a child. Pauline sketched a portrait of myself during one of those visits. I will forever cherish those memories and the portrait. My thoughts are with the family during this time of loss.
