Pauline A. Roy, 71, of Newport died June 1, 2005 in Newport. She was born on October 27, 1933 in Westfield, Vt., a daughter of Osias and Georgette (Gaboriault) Fournier. She married George Roy in 1951 who predeceased her in 1996. Pauline worked with her husband George in several occupations, including real estate, antiques, auctions, and a tire business. She enjoyed traveling with her Community Circle friends, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Karlene Parrish and her husband Edward of Newport, Karen Blais and her husband Norbert of Newport, Brian Roy of Alexandria, VA; Douglas Roy of Austin, TX; and by her grandchildren, Craig Parrish of Newport, Charles Parrish of Raymond, NH, Danielle Blais and her fiancé Scott Swanson of Newport and by great grandsons Andrew and Brendon Parrish of Newport. She is also survived by her sisters, Madeleine and her husband H.E. Degreenia of Newport, and Yvonne Hotte of Alburg, VT; by very close friends Shirley Penney and Theresa Tanguay, and also by David Keefe, Margaret Trobass, and Shirley Fournier, and by her in-laws Francis and Dorothy Roy, Alansford Judd, Joette and Wayne Lantagne, Michael and Mary Roy, Monica and Lloyd Herlocker. She was predeceased by her brothers Lucien, Adrien, and Joseph Fournier, and by a sister Lucille Keefe. Friends may call from 8:30 – 9:30 AM Friday June 3, 2005 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. (formerly Sias Ave.) Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday June 3, 2005 at the St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Derby Line with the Rev. Peter O’Leary celebrating a mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newport.
