Aunt Pauline was indeed the "cool" aunt! Maybe it was because of her place on the beach or maybe it was her beautiful caring face when she gave you her complete attention while she inquired about your life. I don't ever remember hearing her raise her voice or hearing her speak negatively about anyone or anything. She was just that sort of human. I feel very fortunate to have had such a wonderful aunt in my life. In many ways a role model of how to be a successful, independent, working female. She was the "cool" aunt with the beachfront apartment in beautiful San Diego and we were always welcome to come stay with her. Then she married Donn and they had the "cool" pool.
