Pearlie Mae Lewey, age 76, died on Friday, November 11, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Lonie Eason.
She was born on May 3, 1946, in Shongaloo, Louisiana. At an early age, her family moved to Springhill, Louisiana. There, she attended Charles Brown High School. After graduating, she attended Grambling (College) State University for two years. Pearlie attended and completed classes at Carver Baptist Bible College Institute & Seminary.
In 1968, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she was employed at Standard Oil for two years. She later was employed and retired from Hallmark Cards after 40 years.
She was a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ for over 47 years. She loved her church family and worked faithfully in several areas.
She leaves a son, Christopher Lewey, Sr.; one grandson, Christopher Lewey, Jr.; three sisters and one brother. Earnestine Drew and Mary White of Springhill, Louisiana, Bertha Standokes of Houston, Texas, and James Curtis White (Mary) of Kansas City, Missouri. A host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
Services for Mrs. Lewey will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ. Burial Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
