It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Pedro Munguia, 59, of Las Cruces on Monday, March 21, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 6, 1956, in Robstown, Texas, to Roman and Maria Sevalles Munguia. Pedro was employed by Las Cruces Public Schools for 25 years, and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Rosario Moreno Munguia, of the family home; two sons, Andres Munguia (Alexandra), of Albuquerque and James Munguia, of Las Cruces; one brother, Neto Sevalles of Plainview, Texas; and a sister, Lupe Lomeli (Manuel), of Lubbock, Texas. Other survivors include four grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pedro was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Armando Guzman and Benito Lujan.
Visitation for Mr. Munguia will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, in Baca's Funeral Home, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the funeral discourse is scheduled for 7 p.m., with Elder Frank Bueno presiding. Cremation will take place and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

I have known pete for many years since I was was a kid he worked with my father at his auto repair shop before he started with the schools man what an awesome guy he will be missed

Rosario. Andrew. and James, My sympathy and prayers. You lost a wonderful husband and great father to his boys. Our Lord chose him. I will miss him very much because he was a very good friend to me and my boys. Yes, I taught him mechanics and he became very good at it. He will live forever in our hearts. I am so sad to hear that Pete has passed. He was Head Custodian when i was hired as switchboard operator with LCPS. He was so funny, never a dull moment. My deepest sympathy and prayers to the family.
