Peggy Marie Bethea, age 78, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee.


Peggy was born in Smyth County, Virginia, to the late Jim and Louise Robinson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Elmer Peake; her second husband, William C. Bethea, Jr.; her brothers, Charles Robinson and George Robinson; her sister, Imogene Robinson; and her beloved dog, Brownie, whom she loved dearly.


Peggy attended Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading her Bible.


Survivors include her sister, Kathleen Allison; her brother, Walter Preston Robinson and wife, Sally; and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Bradley’s Funeral Home in Marion, with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow in Middle Fork Cemetery.

My sympathy and prayers

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of sweet Peggy. Her and I go way back. When she first moved back to Marion after her first husband passed away. Orchard Towers, second husband. Then Marion Manor apts. with her dog brownie. Then Miller wood apts and she had another dog. She was always smiling and so sweet and kind, getting her sandwiches at the sandwich shop downtown Marion. Praying for peace and comfort for Peggy and her family and friends. ✝

I always enjoyed talking with Peggy. Walter, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I’m so saddened to hear of Peggy’s passing. She was such a very sweet lady/friend that I thought a lot of. Peggy always shined her light as a true Christian, she made me feel welcomed and loved in church or out in the public when I would see her. Unlike many now days, when I may have just been feeling down, depressed, or when I may not have attended church on a regular basis, she would always say “you matter!! “ She definitely was a true inspiration to me and will be missed!
