Peggy June (Crooke) Fry was born on October 24, 1928 in Conroe, Texas to Lawrence F. Crooke, Sr. and Marguerite (Caldwell) Crooke. She and her brother, Lawrence (Larry) F. Peggy attained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas, Austin, where she met Edward (Ed) I. Fry, with whom she was married until his death in 1997. Peggy and Ed enjoyed travel for fun, study, and work in their respective fields of nutrition and anthropology. In the 1960's, the Frys moved to University Park in Dallas, Texas where they took positions at Southern Methodist University. After her husband died, Peggy traveled to Europe, Africa, and throughout the USA. On January 29, 2017 Peggy died at Sunrise on Hillcrest where she received an abundance of much appreciated loving care from Sunrise employees, Comfort Care, Vitas Hospice, and others.
