Peggy Haisten Obituary

On Friday, January 13, 2023, our precious Mother Peggy B. Haisten simply closed her eyes, held JESUS hand and was peacefully ushered across the River Jordan where she met our Father GOD upon which he said those words all believers long to hear upon the completion of life's journey; "well done my loyal & faithful servant, enter & receive your salvation." At this time mother was reunited with her parents, sisters, & son and the angels rejoiced as another believer was welcomed home. Peggy is survived by her sons; Greg Haisten (Kay) and Chris Haisten (Ginger); their father; Robert "Bob" Haisten; grandchildren; Ashley Haisten, Matthew Haisten (Koryn), Hunter Haisten (Nicole), Mackenzie Cash (Cody), and Jessica Adams; sister, Sharon Taylor (Lester);12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friends, Deborah Ann Thornton and Mary Patterson. She is preceded in death by her son, Donald Wayne Haisten; parents, Ernest and Lois Bryant; sisters, Anita Crowder and Shirley Ann Norris and nephew, Randy Crowder. Peggy was a dear friend to all that knew her. She loved to help and care for those she knew. She thoroughly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Peggy had a green thumb and loved flowers and birds, especially redbirds. She was a member of Odena Baptist Church. A visitation was held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 12:00pm- 1:00pm at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel in Sylacauga with a funeral service began at 1:00pm. Burial followed at Odena Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rodney Bryant, Matt Haisten, Noah Haisten, Nick Haisten, Nathan Haisten and Jacob Ramos. Mother will be missed everyday but we're thankful as her family that she was our rock, leader, teacher, and most importantly our Mother. She taught her three sons to love GOD, to respect GOD, to fear GOD, to seek GOD, to thank GOD no matter how much or how little you have as well as empathy towards others and to pray for those who don't know JESUS as their savior. Mother was a Christian, a believer who always sought guidance and strength from GOD and taught her boys to do the same thus molding her sons into men & believers as well and that's the greatest lesson a mother can teach her children. Well done Mother, go rest now & enjoy all the glories of heaven. We love you & we'll meet again in glory. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.curtisandsonfh.com for the Haisten family. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel directed the service.
