Hamilton, Peggy (nee Malone), age 83, of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York. Peggy passed away peacefully October 26th, 2022.

On March 29, 1939, Peggy was born to parents Peter and Annie Malone. She was the youngest of 2 children, Kevin is her brother, from Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, Ireland. She came to America in 1960. Peggy enjoyed her life, working in Ebinger’s bakery, meeting new friends and having new experiences in Brooklyn. She married Al Gorry and started a family. They moved back to Ireland in 1964 to raise their family. After working for many years in the bar and restaurant business decided to return to The States in 1986 for a better life. Peggy worked as a school aide. Taking care of small children. She used to say it was the best job she ever had because interacting with children was always interesting and fun. Peggy married Eamon Hamilton and they were together 30 years.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Danny (Noreen) and Peter (Sue) and her daughter Helen. Fondly remembered as Grandma Peggy to MaryKate. She is survived and loved by family and close friends both here and in Ireland.

Peggy loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She was proud of her Irish heritage. She was known for her Shepard’s pie and Irish stew. As a young girl she was an avid swimmer. Peggy would dive off the Shannon bridge into the river. She loved to dance and Irish step dance. Peggy was a great storyteller and her stories were colored with wit and wisdom.
