Peggy Jo Heath Jernigan

Peggy Jo Heath Jernigan, age 70 of Christiana, TN, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015.

A native of Murfreesboro, TN, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Hall and Lessie Phillips Heath, Sr.

Mrs. Jernigan is survived by her husband of 48 years, Donald Lee Jernigan; daughter, Tamera Blair and her husband Clark of Christiana, TN; son, Thomas Jay Jernigan and his wife Janice of Manderson, South Dakota; grandchildren, Kelsey Smith and her husband Justin, Devin and Nolan Blair, all of Christiana, TN, and Rylee Jernigan of Murfreesboro, TN; great-grandchildren, Aunestie and Emerie Smith both of Christiana, TN; brother, James Henry Barrett of Lascassas, TN.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Jay Jernigan and Reverend Bobby Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Thyatira Cemetery, with Joey and Johnny Fox, David Thompson, Wayne and Charles Thomas, Warren Porterfield, Clark Blair, Jay Jernigan, and Alvin Brandon serving as Pallbearers.

Visitation will be Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Jernigan was a member of Fairhaven Independent Baptist Church, and a retired bus owner and operator for the Rutherford County Schools, and was also retired from the Rutherford Farmers CO-OP.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Mrs. Jernigan.

Donald, Tamara, Jay and Family, I am so sorry to read in the paper today about the passing of Peggy. She was a good lady and so full of life before she got ill. She loved each of you so much and just try to hold on to the good memories. Your family has been in my prayers before reading this and will continue to be in my prayers in the days ahead. You know she up in Heaven organizing transportation - there are a lot of her friends there.
