Peggy Hamilton Lockard

Peggie's mother and I are/were first cousins. I met her once when she was a youth and was called "Peggy Lou". We occasionally exchanged emails and I had her book "Speaking Out" which discussed her rearing by her grandparents on the farm in Wiley, CO. We shared many familial traits and I could clearly identify with her experiences. My brother, Bob Schroeder collaborated extensively with her in the composition of the Schroeder Chronicles. It is a treasured volume!

I worked for Peggy Lockard for many years at Pepper Publishing and I have many fond memories with her. One that I am remembering today is the time she told me that when her children were in school, Peggy called the school to discuss an issue. When she finished the call, she slammed down the phone and exclaimed, "Well they know who Peg Lockard is now!" Peggy stood up for what she believed in and I was always impressed that she would frequently interrupt her busy day to sit down at her...
