Not sure what to say?

Heaven will be a better place now that Mrs. Peggy is there. When my family and I arrived in Des Moines as refugees, Mrs. Peggy taught us English and introduced us to the American culture. She was a wonderful human being. Mrs. Peggy will be truly missed.

I only just learned Peggy had finally quit the building. What a wonderful woman! She was the voice of authority and the fount of common sense when I arrived in Jan 1986 to take up the job of curator of education. In some ways she was a little scary, too--she just knew EVERYTHING! I salute you, Peggy. Really, I salute you. Bon voyage!

I signed my 4 year old to art classes with Peggy Patrick. It was one of my best decisions I ever made. Her love of art and creativity was a gift only Peggy could give.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Peggy, but grateful to her for her service to our country in the Peace Corps.

Our condolences,

The National Peace Corps Association

The first artist who taught me about art was Mom. When I was 4 years old Mom signed me up for art classes at the Des Moines Art Center with an amazing instructor, Peggy Patrick. I can still remember the light coming through the windows, the walk past the mural and through the children's gallery to class, the easels in the corner, rows of paintings in process, messy table surfaces, colorful paint shirts, and Peggy's laugh. The art I created wasn't important. I have tried always to remember...

I share fond memories of Peggy Patrick with much of Des Moines. A gift to have known her, a life so well lived. Peace to her family and loved ones.

Condolences to her family. Peggy will certainly be missed by many - an incredibly gifted person, dedicated to art, to the Des Moines Art Center, and to those who used it

So sorry to hear of her passing. She was, indeed, a legend.

Good memories surface of the days at the Des Moines Art Center we spent together. Peggy's life was highlighted by her many wonderful contributions to education and the art culture of the Midwest. Dixie Parker-Fairbanks (DMAC Assistant Director of Education 1961-66)
