Not sure what to say?

Peggy's spirit and enthusiasm for life were an inspiration to me. I knew her through her participation in King City Camera Club. We already miss her comments and spunk at our competition meetings. She will be remembered and thought of in my heart as I am sure may others.

Peggy was Always Doing ! Knew her over thirty years via the Oregon Nordic Cross Country Ski Club, Mazamas Outdoor Club, June Flemming's Outdoor Classes , Birding , and used-outdoor equipment sales. The world is less colorful with out Peggy.

I met Peggy through the King City Camera Club. She was definitely an inspiration. I loved that Peggy always said exactly what was on her mind and was so impressed with her mountain climbing adventures. Most women wouldn't have even thought of being so adventurous during that time period.

I met Peggy Stone years ago because our outdoor paths kept crossing in hiking and skiing, especially in the Oregon Nordic Club. She always had a ready smile and positive attitude about everything. I enjoyed our shared adventures.

I met Peggy some 20 years ago on Native Plant Society trips to the Columbia Gorge. She was always such a good entertainer when we rode together – all I had to do was the driving. I never realized she climbed almost every mountain in the Northwest until she shared her wonderful high altitude photos at the King City Camera Club. I’ll very much miss her unique view of the world.

I met Peggy on a walk with the Backyard Bird Shop. She had already been retired a number of years. She would join the bird walks whenever she could because she enjoyed birds and wanted to learn to identify them by sight and hearing. I will miss seeing and talking with her.

I met Peggy in 1975 when I joined Oregon Nordic Club. Two years later, she was one of my hero rescuers when I broke my ankle on an overnight ski tour. Peggy practiced her 1st aid skills with black electrical tape, then hauled me out of the mountains to ER in her little yellow station wagon. Oh, yes, and she photographically documented the whole adventure. Absolutely great memories.

Peggy was a regular customer at the King City Backyard Bird Shop where she and I enjoyed many animated conversations about birds. I also spent a week birding with her at Malheur NWR and she was a constant source of cheer during our trip. She will be missed.

I worked with Peggy briefly at the PSU Library years ago (1974), and then, happily, ran into her again in the late 1980s at the Reed Community Gardens. We had garden plots near each other, and I always enjoyed visiting with her in the garden. I am happy to read here that she remained active in her later years. I'm not surprised. An inspiration!
